About Me (&)
My Journey
Three years ago I opened started development for the first time. What happened after that is easier to show than explain.

Where it started
Enrolled in CSE at BRAC University and wrote real code for the first time.
Started a Computer Science & Engineering degree at BRAC University. Coursework in data structures, algorithms, and systems turned curiosity into a habit of building things end to end.
Education0
Diving into machine vision
Joined BRACU DUBURI, Bangladesh's first Autonomous Underwater Vehicle team.
Joined the Machine Vision subteam on BRACU DUBURI, an AUV competing internationally in RoboSub. Built real-time computer vision for underwater gate recognition and navigation with OpenCV, Python, and embedded systems.
Robotics0
Research, for real
Became an ML Research Assistant at the BioSE Research Center.
Started as a Machine Learning Research Assistant at the BioSE Research Center, contributing to biomedical AI research and building the research habits behind every project since.
Research0
Shipping in production
Frontend Developer at FourbTech, alongside final-year studies.
Took on a Frontend Developer role at FourbTech, a startup, applying React/Next.js in production while finishing my final year — real client-facing UI work and collaborative engineering.
Job0
Chasing explainability
Started ExplainFake, a deepfake-detection thesis with built-in XAI.
Began ExplainFake, a multimodal deepfake detection system that fuses audio-visual signals with explainability built directly into the architecture, targeting a Q1 journal publication.
Research0
Finalist, twice over
FynmanAI made the finals at two hackathons back to back.
Built FynmanAI, an AI study coach, under deadline pressure — landed as a finalist at both Infinity AI BuildFest and the Outskill AI Builders Hackathon.
Competition2027
The journey continues
Graduating, and figuring out where AI research takes this next.
Wrapping up the CSE degree and pushing ExplainFake toward publication — still building, still obsessed, still figuring out what's next.

FAQ
Common questions
I'm Hirok Roy Rahul, a final-year Computer Science & Engineering student at BRAC University (expected graduation early 2027), working at the intersection of AI research and full-stack engineering. I'm a Frontend Developer at FourbTech, a Machine Learning Research Assistant at the BioSE Research Center, and a Machine Vision Engineer on BRACU DUBURI — Bangladesh's first Autonomous Underwater Vehicle.
I'm aiming for an intermediate ML engineer role by early 2027, and I'm open to AI/ML engineering and full-stack positions as well as well-scoped contract builds. My background spans production web development, computer vision research, and hardware-adjacent AUV work.
My undergraduate thesis, ExplainFake, is a multimodal deepfake detection system that fuses audio and visual signals with explainability built into the architecture — cross-attention weights act as built-in XAI rather than a post-hoc add-on. It targets Computers in Biology and Medicine (Q1). I'm also developing InstructPrune, a training-free adaptive visual-token pruning framework for vision-language models.
For ML and computer vision: Python with PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, spaCy, and FastAPI. For product work: TypeScript, Next.js, React, and Node.js, with PostgreSQL, Prisma, and Supabase for data. I deploy with Docker and Vercel, and I've done embedded/Arduino integration for the AUV team.
Tryora, an AI-powered virtual try-on platform using async job queues and 3D model generation; Feynman AI, a real-time AI study coach that grades understanding over your own materials (hackathon finalist); ThesisForge, a multi-agent thesis quality-control workspace; and a FIFA World Cup 2026 prediction pipeline running 50,000 Monte Carlo simulations.
Yes — particularly in applied ML, computer vision, and medical AI. I maintain an ORCID (0009-0009-3782-5632) and a ResearchGate profile, and I'm actively reading and building toward publication in top venues.
